Clacton By-Election, Opinions and Thoughts
The results of the Clacton By-elections have been published by the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The results are as followed: Nigel Farage with 22239 votes, Count Binface with 9455 votes, John Stevens with 492 votes, Tony Francis with 432 votes, Pamela Walford with 371 votes, and Laurence Fox with 347 votes. All other candidates received less than one percent of the votes by constituents, and therefore was left out.
The sheer volume of constituents who showed support for Count Binface by voting for him shows just how ridiculous British politics has evolved. Though obviously a satirical figure, Binface campaigned on policies that truly rivalled other politicians such as Nigel Farage, so much so that over a quarter of voters turned to him for leadership. We can only hope politics in the United Kingdom does not reach the absurd state of politics present in the United States.
